ELECTION RESULTS OF THE DPHE ENGINEER'S ASSOCIATION 2009-2010.

Election of the DPHE Engineer’s Association 2009-10 was held today on 30th May 2009 throughout the country in peace and congenial atmosphere. The election was starts at 10.00 am and continued up to 4.00 pm. The following candidates win the race.

President: Md. Nuruzzaman, Superintending Engineer, Dhaka Circle

Vice President: Monwar Ali, Project Director, GWM Project, Dhaka

Secretary General: Md. Waliullah, Assistant Chief Engineer, Dhaka.

Assistant Secretary General: Tusher Mohan Sadhu Kha, Executive Engineer, Training Division, Dhaka.

Treasurer: Md. Saiful Islam, AE, Dhaka.

Office Secretary: Areef Anwar Khan, AE, ADB Project, Dhaka.

Member: Moslema Begum, Executive Engineer, Narayanganj

Md. Golam Moktadir, AE, GOB-UNICEF Project, Dhaka.

Md. Abul Kaium, Executive Engineer, Narsindi


Additional Chief Engineer (Works) Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Chief Election Commissioner and Executive Engineer Md. Rashidul Haque, Election Commissioner compiled all the votes cast in different centres of the country and announced the results.

World Water Day 2009

The international observance of World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro.

The United Nations General Assembly designated 22 March of each year as the World Day for Water by adopting a resolution.This world day for water was to be observed starting in 1993, in conformity with the recommendations of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development contained in chapter 18 (Fresh Water Resources) of Agenda 21.

Bangladesh celebrating the World Water Day 2009 on the 22nd March. Topics presentation followed by discussion will be held in the auditorium of the Department of Public Health Engineering, Kakrail, Dhaka at 9.00 am. Honourable Minister for LGRD & Coperatives will open the day.
